Congratulations to Christoph Kopp, Anke Dahlmann and co-authors on their recently published article ‘7-T Potassium (39K) MRI to Assess Muscle K+ Depletion in Primary Aldosteronism’!

In their study, they showed that combined 39K and 23Na MR imaging at 7 Tesla enables non-invasive visualisation of aldosterone-induced electrolyte shifts in muscle tissue in primary aldosteronism. After therapy, the altered potassium and sodium levels in the tissue normalised and approached those of healthy control subjects.
