Girls & Technology – We were part of it!
At this year’s ‘Girls & Technology’ workshop, pupils gained exciting insights into the world of magnetic resonance imaging.
In small groups, they conducted experiments on magnetism and used a simulation to observe the behaviour of spins – the basis on which MRI images are created. The ‘fruit/vegetable MRI quiz’ was particularly enjoyable, in which the girls had to guess which fruit could be seen on real MRI images.
The participants learned how physics and medicine work together – and that technology can be not only exciting, but also really creative!
