Congratulations to Dominika Skwierawska and co-authors on the recently published article “Relevance of Prostatic Fluid on the Apparent Diffusion Coefficient: An Inversion Recovery Diffusion-Weighted Imaging Investigation”!

This study investigated how prostate fluid affects diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) by using inversion recovery techniques to vary fluid suppression. Results from 12 healthy volunteers and one cancer patient showed that prostate fluid significantly influences the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), and that adjusting inversion times can enhance contrast between healthy tissue and cancer lesions. A two-compartment model (tissue and fluid) successfully explained the observed ADC behavior.
